4.6% of citizens in Colorado unemployed in 2021

Colorado's unemployment rate hit 4.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That's 145,038 people out of the 5,723,176 living in Colorado at the time, according to data U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26, 2023.

The unemployment rate in Colorado has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Colorado was less than the national unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 3,012,622 people who had a job during that time, 36,792 were employed in the Armed Forces and 2,975,830 belonged to the civilian labor force.
